A memorial service for Edward Moradian, 90, who recently moved to Stagecoach, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Armenian Church, 3240 B. St., in Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Moradian died Oct. 4, 2006, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Sanger, Calif., to Hovsep and Vartanoosh Panosian Moradian.
He married Alice Eghoian on Nov. 9, 1946, in Fresno, Calif.
Before moving to Stagecoach, Mr. Moradian lived in Gardnerville for 12 years.
He graduated from Kerman High School in 1934, where he participated in boxing, baseball, football and basketball, helping take his team to the 1933 Valley Championship.
He opened a market with his brother Jim in Stockton, Calif., and later operated a clothing store.
He went on to work for Berberian Bros. for 33 years.
Mr. Moradian was preceded in death by his wife, and brothers Cecil and Jim.
Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Paula Moradian of Fresno; son Don Moradian of Stagecoach; brother Bill Moradian of Stockton; and two grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Douglas County Senior Center.
