Shroy fifth, Carson boys ninth in Clovis

Chad Shroy had another impressive effort to lead the Carson High boys cross country team at the high powered Clovis (Calif.) Invitational at Woodward Park on Saturday.

Carson finished ninth out of 28 teams in Division I for large schools. Shroy ran the first mile on the 3.1 mile course in four minutes, 52 seconds and went on to finish fifth in 16:00. Richard Shroy was 15th in 16:34, Ethan Graber was 77th ni 17:32, Caleb Carter was 83rd in 17:36 and Nick Schlager was 110th in 17:55.

Carson's girls finished 13th out of 28 teams. Yvonne Hollett was 31st in 19:53, Christy Works was 32nd in 19:54, Kristin Dockery was 61st in 20:24, Jenny Mital was 116th in 21:32 and Hannah Riedl was 117th in 21:33.
