The Western Nevada Community College baseball team rolled to a 15-3 win in the nightcap to salvage a split in a doubleheader on Saturday against Feather River at John L. Harvey Field. WNCC lost the opener 4-2.

Ryan Simpson went 4-for-5 with two doubles, including a shot off the high fence to straightaway centerfield and a two-run single in the nightcap. Logan Parsley reached base all five times as he went 2-for-2 and was hit by a pitch twice and walked.

Brad Carlsen had two hits, including a two-run home run, Andrew Ferguson doubled, Chuch Howard went 2-for-3 with a double, Jason Chapman, Anthony Garcia and Roman Davis all added a hit, Kyle Bondurant walked three times and scored two runs and Andrew Reid had an RBI sacrifice fly.

Ryan O'Dell was the winning pitcher after throwing 2.2 scoreless innings. T.J. Wohlver was dominant over the last three innings. Wohlver began by walking the first batter he faced and then allowed a bloop single to give Feather River runners at first and third with no outs.

But Wohlever struck out the next two batters, then fielded a dribbler and threw to first to escape the jam. Wohlver struck out four over three scoreless innings.

In the opener, Reid was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and Carlsen, Taylor Meiras and Ferguson all added a hit.

WNCC will play another doubleheader today against Lassen at John L. Harvey Field, beginning at noon.
