Gerald Boyce Ross, 87, a 31-year Carson City resident, died Oct. 11, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Ross was born May 22, 1919, in Texas, to Clovis Ross and Mimi Vanderslice.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Ross lived in Las Altos, Calif.

He was an airline pilot for Pan American Airlines for 35 years, and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He was a member of the Carson City Rotary Club, a special member of the Lahaina Hawaii Rotary Club, and a member of the Air Force Escape and Evasion Society.

Among his survivors are his wife, Carol Koontz of Carson City; sons Gerald Ross Jr. of Carson City and Dana Ross of Sedona, Ariz.; daughter, Karen Rose of Grants Pass, Ore.; and sisters Glenna Meekma of Bryan, Texas, and Bennie Arnold of Houston.

Burial will take place at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos.
