Revolution soccer wins title

The Revolution, an 12 and under girls soccer team made up of players from the Carson-Tahoe-Truckee areas, won the title at last weekend's Sagebrush/RSU Fall Friendship Tournament in Reno.

The Revolution's 14 and under team took fourth in the event against a highly competitive field. The Revolution's 12 and under team went unbeaten with the defense and goalie Kiersten Knoppel allowing just one goal in the event. "We only gave up one goal the entire tournament," coach Jake Derr said. "I want to thank my girls for their continued teamwork and determination and on a great win."

Members of the 12 and under team are: Cassie Burke, Taylor Campos, Brooke Cherry, Haley Derr, Alicia Gant, Claire Jackson, Kiersten Knoppel, Stevye Laine, Lila Lapanja, Erin Lau, Corinne Lowe, Kaelin Mejia, Sara Nickerson, Shannon Ondry, Tori Pieters, Ashley Sambrailo, Annie Sedgwick, Mackenzie Spaich and Paris Spitzer.

Members of the Revolution's 14 and under team are: Sammy Bruyn, Tori Cernoch, Patsy Decrescenzo, Kali Fallow, Danielle Finnick, Kelsey Higgins, Gracie Jackson, Sarah Koch, Sarah Koontz, Alice Montgomery, Rosie Montgomery, Madison Murphy, Alyssa Unruh, Mariah West and Joy Wilson.

Revolution Soccer is a local girls' competitive soccer team for the committed players from ages 12-16.. The team's philosophy is that league play is for growth and development of the player and that tournaments are where that development is put in to play.
