Man arrested for allegedly ramming sheriff's deputy

A Carson City man was arrested after allegedly ramming his car into a police car Saturday morning.

Jose Alfredo Baneulos-Ruiz, 22, was arrested at 6:35 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon an police officer and misdemeanor drunken driving.

According to the arrest report, pedestrians flagged down a sheriff's deputy in the parking lot of a convenience store after Baneulos-Ruiz allegedly became belligerent with the store's clerk for not selling him alcohol.

The deputy pulled up behind Baneulos-Ruiz's car then he allegedly revved and backed into the patrol vehicle.

Both the deputy and Baneulos-Ruiz were taken to Renown Medical Center with minor injuries and later released.

Baneulos-Ruiz's bail was set at $31,132.
