LaVonne Werlinger Murray, 87, a 51-year Carson City resident, died Oct. 16, 2006, in Carson City.
Ms. Murray was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Ogden, Utah, to Orson Newey and Kate Rhoads.
She was an alumna of Utah State and an elementary school teacher in Carson City from 1955-84.
She served in the military during the Korean War as a nurse in the Philippines.
Among her survivors are her sons Louis Werlinger II and Andrew T. Werlinger; daughter-in-law, Elaine Werlinger; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be in Ogden.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
