Dayton
WHAT: Ghostly Pioneers of Old Town Dayton

DESCRIPTION: The Historical Society of Dayton Valley is joining forces with Community Roots for a spirited hay ride at 6 p.m. Friday beginning at the Dayton Museum on Shady Lane and Logan Road, Old Town.
Laura Tennant will tell stories of Dayton on the ride, which will go to the Dayton cemetery. There, ghosts from the historic town's past will rise up and talk about Dayton in the 1850s and beyond.
Refreshments will be served at the museum and tours will be conducted. Glow Sticks and memorabilia will be sold.

Virginia City
WHAT: Virginia City's Witching Hour

DESCRIPTION: Virginia City's Witching Hour begins with the second annual Goblin Parade, with cash prizes for the best costumes, on C Street at 4:30 p.m.; registration and lineup at 4 p.m. at the Virginia City Jerky Co., 240 S. C St.
Following the parade is safe trick-or-treating at C Street merchants.
At 6 p.m., visitors can tour the Haunted Halls of the Fourth Ward School, visit the Ghosts of Piper's Opera House, see the Unwelcome at the Silver City Cemeteries and the Slice and Dice at St. Mary's Art Center.
Free trolley rides are available to each venue. A "magic pin" will get you into all four events for $15 or $50 for a family. Individual events are $5 each. Tickets are available at the Fourth Ward School.
