A facilitator has been lined up to mediate the dispute among the Lyon County Manager Donna Kristaponis and several county commissioners.
Steve Englert, Lyon County human resources director, said he has someone in mind he wouldn't name, and the commissioners will consider it at their meeting at 9 a.m. today at the Lyon County administrative complex.
"They have to decide if they want to proceed as scheduled," he said.
Kristaponis' possible firing was the subject of a special commissioners meeting last month after she declined a request by commissioners Bob Milz and Phyllis Hunewill to resign.
After a wave of support by county staff and residents, the commissioners voted 5-0 to retain Kristaponis, and pursue a mediation plan set up by Englert.
Englert had turned to the Cooperative Human Resources Management through the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool and Public Agency Compensation Trust to locate possible facilitators.
