A celebration of life for Kathleen Himmelsbach, 65, a 36-year Carson City resident, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Himmelsbach died Oct. 19, 2006, at her home.

She was born May 21, 1941, in Highland Park, Calif., to William Raymond Blanchard and Jessie May Claypool.

She married Gerald Frank Himmelsbach on Aug. 31, 1958, in Las Vegas.

Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Himmelsbach lived in Los Angeles.

She was a pole vault maker for UCS Spirit in Carson City.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 24, 2004, and by sister Beverly Blanchard.

Among her survivors are her son John Himmelsbach of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Kym Borgman of Carson City; daughters Deborah Haworth of Las Vegas and Pamela Asis of Carson City; sisters Deann Harper of Kentucky, Susan Miller of California, and Billie Harlen of Hawaii; brother Bobby Blanchard of California and five grandchildren.

The celebration of life will also celebrate her late husband.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
