Pirates of the Caribbean will pillage Virginia City Middle School during its Halloween Carnival on Thursday.

The carnival will kick off your Nevada Day celebration with the theme "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

The carnival will take place in the Virginia City Middle School gym from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday. All participants are encouraged to wear costumes.

The middle school carnival provides a safe Halloween experience for all who attend. The carnival will feature games and contests for all ages, including: hoop shoots, bounce house, fishing pond, face-painting, fortune-telling and a yummy cake walk. A raffle and a silent auction are filled with rare prizes.

The parents and teachers will prepare carnival-type food that may be purchased on site. For further information, call 847-0980
