A funeral for Nancy S. Highfill, 74, a 15-year Dayton resident, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Visitation will be 4-8 tonight at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Highfill died Oct. 23, 2006, in Carson City. She was born May 12, 1932, in Pittsburgh, to Joseph R. Forsythe and Maude Schuyler.
She married Uyle Highfill on June 11, 1988, at South Lake Tahoe.
Before moving to Dayton she lived in San Jose, Calif., for more than 20 years.
She graduated from high school in Pittsburgh and attended Penn State for three years.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed playing penny slot machines, dining out and traveling.
She was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a son.
Among her survivors are her husband, of Dayton; son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Wanda Daudet of Federal Way, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Douglas Brown of Los Banos, Calif.; sister Naomi Haberli of Dayton; brother David Forsythe of Harrington Park, N.J., and four grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
