A memorial service for Michael John Flanagan, 65, an 11-year Gardnerville resident, will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Douglas County Museum, 1477 Highway 395 North in Gardnerville.

Mr. Flanagan died Oct. 24, 2006, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1940, in Coos Bay, Ore., to Francis R. Flanagan and Belva Woolley Flanagan.

He married Wendelina A. Flanagan Nov. 25, 1986, in the Philippines.

He was a commercial fisherman and groundskeeper at Harrah's.

He belonged to a non-denominational Christian fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Dale, all of Coos Bay, Ore.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Gardnerville; children Michael John Jr., Joenel Abigay and Joanna Abigay; sisters Donalee Nelson and Analyne Flanagan; brother Francis Neil Flanagan and numerous extended relatives.

Memorial donations may be made to the college fund for Michael John Flanagan Jr. at the Greater Nevada Credit Union branch in Minden.

Cremation and burial will take place in Coos Bay, Ore.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
