Pee Wees knock off Reno Cardinals

The Carson Pee Wee Pop Warner football team looked strong in a recent 32-0 win against the Reno Cardinals.

The offensive scoring was spread out over five separate Pee Wee players. The first player to score was Nevin Elliott on a 36 yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Cole Dufresne followed twith a 30-yard rushing touchdown. Cole also has a 45-yard punt return. Defensive player of the game was Brandon Akers with a 37-yard interception and return for a touchdown.

Logan Krupp was the third player to score on a 40-yard rushing touchdown. Matt Nolan posted a score with a 20 yard rushing touchdown.

Running room was made by the offensive line of Cameron Arnold, Andrew Cooper, Austin Brown, Jay Lanuza, Krupp, Chris Lopez, Cory Wilson, Henry Huffman, Andrew Gutierrez, Corwin McIntosh, Adan Franco, Erick Franco.

Krupp completed six passes while Willie McDonald and Henry Huffman combined for four catches.

The defense made a strong showing behind Sage Smith, D.J. Parker, Nathan White, Gunnar Harper, Mikel Hafeman, Sam Blei, Dexter Cummings, Brandon Davidson, Zach Kind, Kyle Hurst, Kevin Karosich, Stefan Sobkiewicz, and Taylor Swanson.

Hopper shoots hole-in-one at Genoa

Carson City's Carl Hopper shot his first hole-in-one on Sunday at Genoa Lakes Golf Course, using a 5-wood on the 191-yard 14th hole. Carole Conklin witnessed the ace.
