Salvation Army holding Christmas sign-ups


The Salvation Army will be holding its annual Christmas sign-ups from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 at the Salvation Army, 661 Colorado St. Call 887-9120.


Military inspection for Carson High NJROTC


The Carson High School's Naval Junior ROTC unit will be holding its annual military inspection at 12:15 p.m. today on the varsity soccer field behind the JROTC building. Inspection includes a pass-in-review and a performance by the two drill teams. Parents, family and friends of cadets, as well as veterans, members of supporting organizations and former cadets are invited to attend. Call 283-1780.


Carson City Democrats to meet


The Carson City Democrats meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 709 E. Robinson St. The Carson City Democratic Central Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the State of Nevada Employees Association Conference Room, corner of Robinson and Roop streets. Roberts House to hold benefit teas


There will be teas to benefit the Roberts House Museum on the following dates, times, and for the following prices: Nov. 12 at noon for $15 and Dec. 3 and noon for $18. Space is limited and early registration is requested by four days prior to the tea. For information call 887-8865.

AARP Driver Safety Program canceled


The AARP Driver Safety Program scheduled for Nov. 18 at the Dayton Senior Center has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. The class will be rescheduled at a later date. Anyone needing to attend a session before the end of the year should plan to attend a Carson City class. Call 993-5991.


Home for the Holidays boutique this weekend


The first Home for the Holidays Boutique featuring items from Weekender's Fashions, Jewelry by Park Lane, Mia Bella Candles, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Body Shop at Home and Home & Garden Party will be open from 5-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.


Attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for donation to the Dayton Food Closet.

Blue Man Group coming to Reno
