Senior menus

The following menus are for the week of Sept. 11-15 and subject to change without notice. Choice of beverages is included with meals:

Carson City

The lunch menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive:

Monday: Barbecue beef ribs, potato salad, green salad, watermelon, fruit tart, garlic bread.

Tuesday: Chicken curry, brown rice, colorful salad, pineapple chunks, whole wheat roll with margarine.

Wednesday: Roast pork with gravy, scalloped potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, ambrosia salad, wheat roll.

Thursday: Tuna salad or egg salad, lettuce, tomato, onions, carrot salad, fruit salad, wheat bread on sandwich, sherbet.

Friday: Liver or Salisbury steak with onions, yams, tomato vinaigrette, Mexicorn, peaches, whole wheat bread with apple butter.

Douglas County

The menu for the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane:

Monday: Country fried chicken, mixed salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, green peas, banana.

Tuesday: Chef salad, ham, turkey, hard-boiled egg, cheese, 7-grain roll, fresh fruit cup.

Wednesday: Roast beef, fruit salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, dinner roll, cake and ice cream.

Thursday: Vegetable lasagna, marinated tomatoes, grapes, garlic bread, cookie.

Friday: Lemon pepper cod, coleslaw, harvest rice, spinach, lemon pudding.

Dayton

The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, peaches, salad, beets, roll with butter.

Tuesday: Chili relleno, broccoli and cauliflower, Spanish rice, flour tortilla, spicy pears.

Wednesday: Chili dogs, mixed veggies, cheese and onions, Tater Tots, watermelon, ice cream.

Thursday: Beef stew, coleslaw, cornbread, applesauce, mixed fruit.

Friday: Teriyaki chicken, pork and beans, spinach salad, rice, banana, cake and ice cream.

Silver Springs

The menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Way:

Monday: Spaghetti, zucchini, fruit cup, garlic bread.

Tuesday: Sweet and sour pork, broccoli, fried rice, cherry cobbler.

Wednesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, peaches, bread with butter.

Thursday: Baked chicken, steamed cabbage, red potatoes, citrus salad, pudding.

Friday: Fish and chips, oven potatoes, coleslaw, banana, cornbread.

Fernley

The menu for the Fernley Senior Center 1170 W. Newlands Dr:

Monday: Chicken pasta primavera, colorful salad, garlic bread, orange-pineapple mold.

Tuesday: Meatball stew, cornbread, steamed cabbage, tropical fruit.

Wednesday: Pot roast, carrot, celery, onion, mashed potatoes with gravy, 3-bean salad, apple or orange.

Thursday: Polish sausage, sauerkraut, peas, peaches, rye bread, cookies.

Friday: Tuna salad, garden soup, Tater Tots, Saltine crackers, peaches, roll with butter.

Storey County

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Turkey chili, cornbread, green salad, ambrosia salad.

Tuesday: Sloppy Joe, peas and carrots, celery sticks, apple crisp.

Wednesday: Spaghetti with meat balls, salad, garlic bread, yogurt with fruit.

Thursday: Chicken enchilada, Mexican corn, refried beans, ice cream.

Friday: Kathy's pizza supreme, corn, salad, berries with cream.
