Two suspects sought in Sparks armed robbery

The Reno and Sparks police departments are asking for the public's assistance in identifying suspects wanted in connection with an August armed robbery in Sparks.

Two Reno Gazette-Journal employees we re approached at approximately 2:32 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 400 block of Greenbrae Drive in Sparks by a man and woman armed with handguns. After taking a victim's wallet that contained a debit card, the suspects fled on foot and were last seen in the area of 4th Street and Richards Way in Sparks.

The debit card was later used in a convenience store by a woman. The female suspect is associated with a teal-colored minivan.

The male suspect is described as black, in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 6-foot tall and 200 pounds with a neatly groomed mustache and beard. He was wearing brown camouflage pants, black long-sleeved shirt, a dark knit stocking cap and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

The female suspect is described as black, about 25-30 years old, approximately 5-foot, 5-inches tall weighing 150-160 pounds with a chubby build. She was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects. Anyone having information relating to the crime, the suspect vehicle or the suspects should contact the Sparks Police Department at (775) 353-2225 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
