Penny Lou Marshall, 52, a 12-year Gardnerville resident, died Aug. 29, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Marshall was born Oct. 5, 1953, in North Hollywood, Calif., to Nelse and Aleen Hicks.
She married John Marshall on Oct. 14, 1989, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Marshall lived in Oak View, Calif.
She was a high school graduate and worked as a change person.
She belonged to the Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 24, 2005; father on Dec. 7, 1992, in California; mother on Jan. 22, 2000, in California; and brother Jim Hicks on April 25, 2002, in California.
Among her survivors are step-daughters Jennifer and Kate Marshall; sister Dina Hooten of Taft, Calif.; brother Irl Hicks of Ojai, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice in Reno.
A celebration of life was held Sept. 2, 2006, for her family and friends.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
