A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night at the hospital for allegedly fleeing an accident on Curry Street in which his passenger had to be flown to a Reno hospital.

Lee Ross, 30, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony hit and run.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. John Schilling, Ross was southbound on Curry Street near Moses Street and Koontz Lane about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when he crossed the center line and struck head-on a northbound Mitsubishi Galant.

Schilling said Ross and at least two of the three backseat passengers fled the scene.

Front-seat passenger Paul Simpson, 19, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken by helicopter to Washoe Medical Center with head injuries.

Another passenger in the Camaro also received injuries, but his name was not released.

Mitsubishi driver Jesus Deoca, 21, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Schilling said two of the fleeing juvenile passengers later returned to the scene with their parents and gave police statements.

He said tribal police located Ross on the Carson Colony and transported him to the hospital where he was treated, then arrested.

Schilling said blood was taken from Ross to determine if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident occurred.

He is being held in the Carson City Jail on $25,000 bail.
