'Healthsmart TV' show to focus on neck pain
During this month, Dr. Alfred H. Grimes of Pinnacle Pain Medicine in Carson City will join Dr. Lyons, host of "HealthSmart TV" to dispel false beliefs about neck pain.
Grimes' focus is on the treatment of conditions affecting muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons. Neck pain can originate in ligaments or discs and effect people either occasionally or chronically. In most cases, surgery is not the best option.
HealthSmart TV can be viewed on Carson Access Cable channel 10 in Carson City and Dayton at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Channel 26 in the Carson Valley at 8 p.m.
Alzheimer's fundraiser includes pizza, dance
The Carson Senior Center's team of walkers, "Ayer's Friends," who are participating in the Sept. 30 Capital City Memory Walk, are holding a team fundraiser for Alzheimer's, "Afternoon Pizza Dance" from 1:30-4 p.m. today at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive.
Pizza, soda and dancing to the music of Lee Stevenson costs $3 per person. All proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada.

Veterans Day Parade seeking parade entries
Reno will be celebrating Veterans Day with a parade starting at 11 a.m. Nov. 11.
Parade participants are wanted.
The parade route will run along Arlington Ave. from Fifth Street south to Court Street.
This new parade route is due to the scheduled construction along Virginia Street.
All families and groups are welcome to participate, including color guards, military, veterans as well as service, animal, youth, sports, music, vehicle and neighborhood groups.
