(Staff reports) Both drivers were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 four miles west of Silver Springs Tuesday.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, at 3:55 p.m., an eastbound 1993 Lumina crossed the double-yellow center line and struck a 2004 Dodge pickup head-on. The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
A female passenger in the Dodge, Janice Howell, 61, of Fernley, was taken by Care Flight to Washoe Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The drivers' names are being withheld pending notification of kin.
An investigation continues into whether alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor to the accident.
