The Western Nevada Community College women's soccer team got off to a strong start, but couldn't sustain it in a 4-0 loss to Sierra in Rocklin, Calif., on Tuesday.
"The first 10 minutes we came out hard and had some opportunities," WNCC coach Hillary Arthur said. "We didn't put them in the net. They got momentum and pretty much controlled the flow of the game."
WNCC trailed just 1-0 at halftime and Arthur said he defense played well for 75 minutes of the game.
"We didn't bring our A game," Arthur said. "We weren't winning 50-50 balls. We were just making too many mistakes. We were just two steps behind the entirety of the game."
Among the highlights was the play of Hannah Lee at forward. "She definitely was a challenge for their fullbacks," Arthur said.
