The Carson Senators Junior Pee Wee football team came up big against the Truckee Wolverines on Saturday, winning 25-6.
Chance Banta started the scoring in the first quarter with a sweep right and a score from 40 yards out.
Casey Reynolds then punched it in for the extra point. Kyle Sharp solidified the defense with a fumble recovery in the first quarter which enabled Carson to keep Truckee off the board in the first half.
Jake Alferes found his way through the offensive line on several occasions for quarterback sacks. Alec Donner, Dalton Butler, Brandon Maffei, J.D. Sam, Russell Maxwell and Casley Matthews also played well defensively.
The second quarter saw Kyle Sharp return a punt for a touchdown and ended the first half with a score of Carson 13, Truckee 0.
Carson got the passing game going early in the second half with a 20 yard pass from Garrett Schafer to Donner. That set up a touchdown run by Austin Shaffer.
With the score 19-0 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Senators continued passing successfully to Donner and running reverses with Donner who was able to score on an end around. The Wolverines were finally able to get on the board with a 65 yard touchdown pass in the final three minutes of the game.
The Senators offensive line was solid throughout the game. Eric Slabaugh, Kyle Cavner, Rossnel Dagdagan, Jacob Herzing and David Ceballos all played well. Receivers Danny Guthrie, Charles Hersey, Ricky Merlin and Robert Carmazzi also blocked well down field.
In addition, Tristan Bakkedahl, Anthony Gonzales and Christian Tercero all played well defensively. The 2-1 Senators will host the Reno Patriots at Governor's Field at 8 pm. Friday.

SOUTH TAHOE 12
The Carson Tiny Mites Blue had their hands full on Saturday with a strong South Tahoe Vikings Tiny Mites on the Vikings home field before pulling out an 18-12 win.
The first half of play was punctuated with excellent defense by both teams. The only score came on a sweep left by Carson's Brandon Gagnon. Right before the half ended, Carson's Tristan Martel saved a touchdown by running down the Vikings speedy tailback who appeared to be headed for a 60 yard score.
In addition, Conner Larkin, Nick Tibma, Cody Radtke, Blake Snyder, Colton Schafer, Hunter Wheeler, Justin Lopez, Christopher Lyons and Dawson Lamb all played well defensively.
South Tahoe return an interception 40 yards for a touchdown to begin the second half.
On the next posession, Carson was forced to turn the ball over on downs. The Vikings took advantage of their speed on the outside and ran a 50 yard sweep left for a touchdown. The Vikings led 12-6.
Carson took posession of the ball and Gagnon set the tone for the scoring drive when he ran sideline from sideline, covering about 100 yards for a 5-yard gain.
Jarod Butler then provided solid running and blocking up the middle to set up Derek Schafer's quarterback sneak for a touchdown with about four minutes left in the game.
The Vikings took posession of the ball on their own 30 yard line. The Carson defense forced the Vikings to turn it over on downs.
Carson then took posession of the ball on the Viking 30 with about a minute and a half to play. The Senators were able to overcome several penalties to put together a game-winning driving, scoring on Schafer's quarterback sneak.
"It was the most exciting game of the year, those little guys can really play," Carson offensive coordinator Todd Schafer said.
The Carson offensive line consisting of Tibma, Walker Bates, Zachary Roark, Carl Cavner, Gavin Bakkedahl played well. Luke Meyers, Conner Arnold and Tristan Woslum also played well offensively.
The Tiny Mites Blues will take their 3-0 record to Reno on Friday where they will face the Reno Panthers at 8 p.m. at Mira Loma Park.
