A graveside service for Donald Martin Bentson, 78, a 21-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lone Mountain Cemetery. A gathering will follow at Autumn Funerals and Cremations.

Mr. Bentson died April 15, 2007. He was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Lakeville, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bentson.

He married Georgina Bigelow on July 9, 1969, in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Bentson also lived in Walnut Creek, Calif.

He worked as a carpenter in Minnesota and in the San Francisco Bay area.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years, in the military police in World War II and the Korean War.

He was a Lutheran and belonged to the Marine Corps Legion in Bridgeport.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; sons Stephen Donald Punt of Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Donald Robert Punt of Lafayette, Calif.; daughter, Bonita Irene Christensen of Carson City; brothers Floyd Bentson of Lakeville, and Roger Bentson of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Joanne Miland of Lakeville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
