Carson City


Community drum circle at WNCC


A community drum circle where people of all ages come together, share a rhythm and have a good time will celebrate heart health and education from noon-3 p.m. Friday. Participants might play a drum, a set of bongos, or even an upside-down garbage can at the event organized by Western Nevada Community College nursing students.


"Drum to the Rhythm of Your Heart" is a family-friendly event. Activities will include drumming, dancing, face painting, sidewalk art, and cardiovascular health education, including free blood pressure readings and pamphlets. Heart-healthy baked goods will also be sold. Circle will be outside the Aspen Building in the college's Rotary Plaza. Call 445-3000.

20-30 club to hold fashion show benefit


The Sierra Nevada Active 20-30 Club will hold its annual spring fashion show to benefit Douglas County's special-needs children from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. April 29 at the Genoa Lakes Golf Course. The event showcases clothing for men, women and children, and includes a silent auction and raffle. The event features a wine lunch. Home and garden show coming to Reno


The Lockett & Sullivan Home and Garden show opens Friday at the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority at 2 p.m. The show continues Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is $5 and ticket prices vary.

This is the biggest home and garden show booked into Reno this year.


'Reefer Madness' continues in Reno


This award-winning Musical "Reefer Madness" is receiving its Nevada premiere at Brüka Theatre weekends through May 12. Showtime is 8 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinee Sunday.


The story: Young Jimmy Harper, a clean-cut teenager, falls in with a crowd of depraved marijuana fiends and quickly descends into a lurid world of violence, crime, sex and drug-crazed abandon.


Brüka warning: This is explicit theatre. No one under the age of 16 will be admitted without an adult. Doors open a half an hour before curtain time. Blue Öyster Cult play at Harrah's


Legendary rockers Blue Öyster Cult bring their powerful classics to the South Shore Room at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.


For more than three decades Blue Öyster Cult has been known for its pioneering work in the hard-rock and heavy-metal scene.
