The Dayton High baseball team set up a showdown for first in the Northern 3A by romping to a doubleheader sweep over Incline on Thursday at home.
Ryan Shepard, Konrad Perkins and Brandon Aguilera combined to hold Incline to one total hit in the doubleheader as the Dust Devils won the opener 21-0 and the nightcap 17-1. Dayton will host Spring Creek in a battle for first in a doubleheader, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Dust Devils are 9-1 in league while the Spartans are 10-0.
Shepard and Perkins combined on a no-hitter in the opener, facing 16 batters, one over the minimum. Shepard struck out six over three innings and walked one while Perkins struck out three over two innings.
Tommy O'Brien was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple, Cory Yoder went 2-for-3 with a double, Anthony Onstott was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a two-run home run, Aguilera went 3-for-4 and Timmy Doyle and Joe Delaski were both 2-for-3.
In the nightcap, Aguilera allowed one hit, struck out eight and walked none over five innings in his complete game effort. Ryan Ransdell was 3-for-4 witha double and a two-run home run and Delaski and O'Brien each went 2-for-2.
