A funeral service for Dorothy Fordham, 70, a 16-year Minden resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fordham died July 26, 2007, at her home. She was born March 10, 1937, to Frank and Olive Smith, in Kalispell, Mont. Before moving to Minden she lived in Seattle, Wash. She married Leith Hooker in 1995 in Minden. She earned an A.A. degree in accounting from Orange Coast College in California. She was a budget manager for a school district in Southern California.
She was past president of Carson Valley Women's Golf, a member of Silver Oaks and Empire Ranch Women's Golf, Emblem Club, Audubon Society, and Duplicate Bridge Club of Gardnerville and Carson City.
Among her survivors are her husband of Minden; sons and daughters-in-law, Orlyn and Janice Fordham of Gardnerville, Eric and Cheryl Fordham of Lakewood, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Bea and Johnny Dyer of Kalispell, Mont., and four grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
