A Carson City casino owner was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of drunken driving after he allegedly backed into an animal control vehicle.
Eugene Chaney, 67, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, unsafe backing, driving without proof of insurance and failing to wear a seatbelt.
According to the arrest report, an officer with Carson City Animal Control was in the 400 block of Curry Street at 7:59 p.m. on a report of two dogs locked inside a vehicle.
Chaney, owner of the Carson Horseshoe Club, allegedly backed out of a parking space and into the city vehicle.
He told officers he had consumed three or four glasses of wine at the Old Globe and had recently taken "several" Vicodin for "pain management," according to the arrest report.
The report states Chaney was unable to complete any of the four field sobriety tests, including failing a preliminary breath test. The results were not available.
No one was injured in the accident.
Chaney's bail was set at $2,038.
The animal control officer located the dogs in an unrelated vehicle and it was determined they were not in danger.
