Bureau of Early Intervention Services Reaches Milestone

The Nevada State Health Division's Bureau of Early Intervention Services has made significant progress in meeting the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 compliance requirement for establishing an Individual Family Service Plan within 45 days of receipt of a referral.

Alex Haartz, administrator, Nevada State Health Division said, "The 2003 Nevada Legislature approved the creation of a new Bureau of Early Intervention Services, effective July 1, 2003. While the process was challenging, the staff are to be commended for their dedication and overall improved services to the children and families in Nevada."
