Laura Lee McGuffey, 65, a former 50-year resident of Carson City, died Aug. 26, 2007, in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
Mrs. McGuffey was born Feb. 7, 1942, to Coleman "Dutch" Hughes and Helen Frazier in Yerington.
She taught elementary school in the Carson City and Douglas County school systems her entire career. She married Butch McGuffey July 28, 2002, in Dayton. She enjoyed quilting.
Among her survivors are her husband of Rocky Comfort; brother Michael Hughes of Big Horn, Wyo.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Walker Dowd Funeral Home in Rocky Comfort in charge of arrangements.
