A 59-year-old Carson City woman was pronounced dead at the hospital this afternoon shortly after she was found lying in the grass just south of the Nevada State Museum.

Deputy Mike Fischer said the report went out as an intoxicated woman lying in the grass, but when he arrived, he realized the woman was not breathing. He said he could not find a pulse but she still felt warm. Fischer began chest compressions and continued to do so as paramedics loaded her into an ambulance.

He said he did not smell any alcohol on the woman.
