The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Topics include the effects of budget cuts to parks department. Director Roger Moellendorf, for instance, said in a report that a 5 percent cut would cost the department about $308,000 and force it to cut a maintenance worker, an office worker and possibly a recreation youth program manager. Also, maintenance, services and employee training would have to be reduced, according to Moellendorf.
