Tahoe Grizzlies need more players

The Tahoe Grizzlies Pee Wee Youth Hockey team is in need of experienced ice hockey players ages 11-12 for the second half the season.

The seasons runs from now until March 9. The Grizzlies have three home weekends and three travel weekends to conclude the season. Players may be added to the rooster until December 31.

The South Tahoe Ice Arena is the only ice skating rink serving Reno, Sparks and all of Northern Nevada and the greater Lake Tahoe area. The Grizzlies practice Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday is a scrimmage night.

The Grizzlies will face Santa Clara at 4 p.m. Saturday at 8 a.m. Sunday at the South Tahoe Ice Arena.

Grinceri shoots hole-in-one at Empire Ranch

Tony Grinceri shot his first hole-in-one at Empire Ranch Golf Course on Wednesday. Grinceri fired his ace from the red tee on the 162-yard eighth hole. Dick Montoya, Dahl Rask and Adam Huber witnessed the ace.
