Paul Wardell Lumley

Paul Wardell Lumley, a 30-plus year resident of Douglas County, died December 3, 2007. Paul was born April 6, 1925, in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada. An American citizen since 1977, he was a homebuilder at South Lake Tahoe and Carson City.

Among his survivors are his wife, Arlene of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Robert Winslow of Shingle Springs, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Paula and Mark Orshowski of Fairfield, Mont.; stepdaughter Nancy Lowery of Carson City; stepdaughter Paula Sauvageau of Portland, Ore.; and stepson Arnie Braafladt of Los Gatos, Calif. He has many nephews and grandchildren.

Paul previously was active in the First Baptist Church at South Lake Tahoe, was an avid motorcycle and snowmobile rider, and enjoyed touring with Arlene in their recreational vehicle. He was an active member of the Lake Tahoe Snowmobile Association and was a volunteer with RSVP, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and the Reno Air Races.

A celebration of Paul's life is set for 2 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2007, at Hilltop Community Church in Carson City.
