Harold E. Varin

Harold E. Varin, 82, was born June 5, 1925 in David City, Neb. and passed away December 8, 2007 in Carson City. He grew up in Custer, S.D., resided in the Mesa - Tempe, Ariz. area for 42 years, and was a resident of Carson City for the last three years. Harold was a pilot in the Air Force during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He was employed with the US Postal Service for over 30 years, culminating with the position of Assistant Post Master. His love of woodworking resulted in many memorable works of art which will be cherished by his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Varin and sisters, Marilyn O'Connor and Janice Varin.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Varin of Carson City; son, Gerald Varin and wife, Claudia of Minden; daughters, Susan Billingsley and husband, George of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Donna Varin-Yukish and husband, Bill of Carson City; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
