A Lyon County man who pleaded guilty to lewdness with a minor in an agreement in which charges of sexual assault were dismissed was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in prison last week.
Charles Palecki, 67, appeared in Lyon County District Court on Dec. 3. Palecki was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the two young daughters of a family friend in Silver Springs from 2004 until August 2006.
The oldest of the two girls told police Palecki had threatened to shoot her whole family if she ever told. Before investigators had a chance to speak to him, he left the area. He was arrested in September in Amador County, Calif., on the Lyon County warrant.
