A Silver Springs man who pleaded guilty this week to attempted lewdness with a child, will be sentenced on Dec. 3 in Yerington.

Charles Palecki, 67, entered the guilty plea on Monday and faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced. In exchange for the plea, four counts of sexual assault with a child under 14 and two counts of lewdness with a minor under 14 will be dismissed.

Palecki was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the two young daughters of a family friend from 2004 until August 2006.

The oldest of the two girls told police Palecki had threatened to shoot her whole family if she ever told. Before investigators had a chance to speak to him, he left the area. Palecki was arrested last month in Amador County, Calif., on the Lyon County warrant.

He is being held in Yerington on $600,000 bail.
