December 26 is the day each year when year-end sales begin at retail locations across the country. Sales figures have fallen below even modest expectations and retailers are trying to salvage the shopping season with attractive post-Christmas bargains, according to Associated Press.
Area retailers are offering the same types of bargains and shoppers flocked to stores Wednesday to see what was still available and to return unsuitable gifts.
