Bettie Lou Teague Shawe

Bettie Lou Teague Shawe, 83 years old, died and hopefully went to be with her Lord, at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at home in Fishers, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, H. Bruce Shawe Jr., her parents and her sister, Dorothy Kinzer.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles Shawe, Fernley, Nev., and H. Bruce Shawe III., Blaine, Wash. and two daughters, Sherry Shawe, Blaine, Wash., and Betsey Taylor, Fishers, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bettie was the daughter of the late Glacy Teague and the late Ida Maybel(Harcrow) Teague. She was born in Highland Park, California on October 7, 1924. She married H. Bruce Shawe Jr. on November 19, 1955. She was a homemaker and military wife. She was a volunteer for the Air Force Family Services and Desert Community United Way. She was a sports enthusiast and played semi-professional volleyball in the 1950's. She was an avid tennis player, bowler and golfer and was active in the organization of charity golf tournaments.

After moving to Indiana she became a Colts Fan. She had a green thumb. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making beautiful table arrangements, and designing computer greeting cards, newsletters and stationery.

Private arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Ind. A memorial service will follow.
