Hugh E. Brinson, 84, a Carson City resident since 1956, died Feb. 6, 2007, in Carson City.
Mr. Brinson was born April 19, 1922, in Georgia, to Ira Brinson and Martha Wilson.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Brinson lived in North Carolina.
He had a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.
He was the chief bridge engineer for the Nevada Department of Transportation for 10 years before his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy for six years in the South Pacific during World War II.
He belonged to the Carson City Masonic Lodge, the Carson City Rotary and the Professional Civil Engineers Association.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, two sons and a daughter.
Among his survivors are sons Jade Brinson of Reno and Hughston Brinson of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Mariah and Richard Brinson of Sparks; and two grandchildren.
Entombment will take place at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum next to his children.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
