The Carson High boys basketball team will return to the court today when it plays Hawthorne, Calif., at 3 p.m. in the Wild West Shootout at Reno High. Hawthorne features Brandon Richardson, who has signed with Nebraska. Tickets are $5.
Perez wins at U.S. Pro/Am motocross
Robert Perez of Jacks Valley continues to have success on the elite level, winning a title at this past weekend's 11th annual American Motorcyle Association Chaparral U.S. Pro/Am Championships held at Glen Helen in San Bernardino, Calif.
The 16-year-old Perez, who has raced at such events as the AMP Dodge Amateur Motocross Nationals, is currently spending the winter and early spring racing in Southern California.
Perez raced in the 250 Novice and 125 Novice Motocross classes, going up against mostly riders from Southern California.
The 250 Novice class consisted of a Grand Prix race on Saturday and a Motocross race on Sunday. He won the overall title in the 250 Novice class and took eighth in the 125 Novice Motocross class.
