Kevin Clifford/Nevada AppealNorthbound traffic through Pleasant Valley remained slow at 1 p.m. following a five-car accident at 9:30 this morning.
A five-car accident blocked traffic between Reno and Carson City for nearly two hours this morning. Though Highway 395 was open by 1 p.m., northbound traffic continues to be slow through Pleasant Valley.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen said the road closed when the driver of a Dodge Durango slid into the southbound lanes of the highway from Pleasant Valley Road and was struck by an oncoming semi truck at aobut 9:30 a.m.
Two more southbound drivers struck either the semi, the Durango or both. Then the Durango was struck by a northbound driver.
Allen said the male driver of the Durango has severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.
