Kid's drawing contest for Kid's Fishing Derby

According to Pam Rodrigues of Douglas County, the 2007 Kids Fishing Derby (KFD) is holding a drawing contest to be used for that derby.

That derby is held each year in early June at Lampe Park in Gardnerville.

The drawing contest is open to youngsters between the ages of 3 and 12.

This year's contest theme is "Kids' Fishing Derby at Lampe Park."

All entries must be submitted on 8 x 11 pieces of white paper, together with a contest entry form.

The entry form must include the following information: Name, age, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, school name (if applicable) and grade.

No more than three colors may be used on the drawing.

Entries must be received by no later than Feb. 1. Mail entries and entry forms to KFD, P.O. Box. 2987, Minden NV 89423.

All entries become the property of the Kid's Fishing Derby Inc., 2007.

The winner will be announced in early April.

The first place winner will be the design used for T-shirts sold at the derby. The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate, a VIP pass for the derby and a new fishing pole.

The second place winner will be the design of the 2007 Derby lapel pins. The second place winner will receive a VIP pass and a new fishing pole.
