A memorial mass for Charlene Rooney, 82, a Gardnerville resident, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Gall Catholic Church.
Mrs. Rooney died Jan. 21, 2007, in Carson City. She was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Ontario, Calif.
She married Donald Rooney in 1944.
Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Rooney lived in Napa, Calif., for 44 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, square dancing, sewing, knitting, baking, and traveling. She was a volunteer for the Cancer Society and a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Among her survivors are her husband of 62 years of Gardnerville; sons Michael Rooney of Austin, Texas, and Richard Rooney of Gardnerville; daughter, Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Vista Care Hospice.
Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
