Roberts House to hold teas through May


The Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson St., will be holding teas on Saturday and one Sunday in the months of February, March, April and May for fundraising. For dates, prices of teas and reservations, call Paula Cannon at 887-8865.

Library to host virtual visit to Nicaragua


The Carson City Library will be holding an opportunity to "Explore the World @ Your Library" at 7 p.m. tonight.


Visit Nicaragua through a PowerPoint presentation by Josh Lynn who coordinated a forestry project in northern Nicaragua from 2000-04 for the Fabretto Children's Foundation. Call 887-2244.

20-30 club women host recruitment/ guest bartending night


The women of Sierra Nevada Active 20-30 are hosting a "recruitment/guest bartending night" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Buckaroos Saloon on Highway 395 in Gardnerville.


The public is invited to attend this event. Members of the club will step behind the bar to serve drinks and inform and educate the public about the women's club.

Annual Sheep Dip show at Sparks Nugget


Northern Nevada's annual roast Sheep Dip returns Friday and Saturday to the Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks.


Now in its 43rd installment, the production targets high-profile area leaders, events and occurrences. Local celebrities, community members and willing politicos work for months to develop and produce skits, songs and acts designed to poke good-natured fun at things that happened during the past year.


Proceeds from this year's community roast benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Veterans House and Evelyn Mount's Community Outreach service. Tickets for Sheep Dip are $35 at (800) 648-1177 or 356-3300 or by visiting janugget.com.
