Helen Charlotte Oscarson Schroeder, 89, a Fairfield, Calif., resident, died May 26, 2007. She was born May 31, 1917, in Wheaton, Minn., to John and Emma Oscarson.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Richmond, Calif. She moved to Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, Calif., then to Fairfield.
Mrs. Schroeder worked for and retired from the Nevada Highway Department. At Rossmoor, she enjoyed travel and line-dance class. She was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Schroeder; brothers Gerhard Oscarson, Gordon Oscarson, Einar Oscarson, Walter Oscarson and John Oscarson and by sisters Vera McKenna, Lillian Benno and Dolores Swanson.
Among her survivors are son Chuck and significant other LaChresia Whitley, of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law Billie and Pat Core of Vacaville, Calif.; grandchildren Patty Dawson, Jory Core, Jeff Core, Jill Butler, Deanna Bjork, Lance Schroeder, Sarah See and Crystal Jackson and great-grandchildren.
A private service will be at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
