Elwood Davis, 96, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, died May 22, 2007. He was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Roswell, N.M., to Herbert B. and Rosella M. Bruner Davis.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the 398th Bombardment Group.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Alpine County Fish and Game Commission.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Arnaud Davis.
Among his survivors are his nephew, Ray Root.
