Shirley A. Snider, 64, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years, died June 9, 2007, in Gardnerville. She was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Townsend, Mont., to Frederick and Ida Campbell Barthule.

She married Arthur Snider on Sept. 3, 1982, in Maui, Hawaii.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Reno.

She graduated from high school in Spokane, Wash.

Mrs. Snider was an administrator for the telephone company.

She volunteered for the Lawyers of Washoe County, the American Red Cross and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; sons Monte Walker of Las Vegas and Lee Walker and Brian Walker, both of Lakewood, Calif.; stepsons Michael Snider of Riverside, Calif., and John Snider of Corona, Calif.; stepdaughter Laurel Snider of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

A private family service will be at a later date.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
