Items recovered during the arrest of a teenager in Gardnerville in May are believed to have been stolen in a series of Carson City auto burglaries.

Carson City Sheriff's Detective Dave Legros said that when a 17-year-old teen was arrested on May 4 on suspicion of drunken driving, Douglas County officers questioned the boy about boxes of electronics in the back seat. According to the report, the teen allegedly admitted stealing the items sometime in April from an unknown number of cars between Long Street and Northridge Lane.

Legros said the teen wrote a statement in which he stated he only entered cars that were unlocked and took items he thought he could get money for.

Anyone who believes they may have fallen victim to an auto burglary in April between Long Street and Northridge Lane is asked to call Legros at 887-2020 ext. 1400 to identify their items.
