An inurnment service for Ted L. Winger, 78, a 25-year resident of Douglas County will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Genoa Cemetery.
Mr. Winger died March 5, 2007, at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. He was born April 10, 1928, in Oil City, Pa., to Victor Francis and Marguerite Salome Winger.
He retired from Pacific Telephone in 1982. He was a hall of fame member and past president of the Los Angeles Bowling Association and active in the Topaz Ranch Estates Property Owners Association. He also helped organize Little League at the Topaz estates and was active in many youth organizations in Nevada and California.
Mr. Winger was an avid golfer, gardener and bowler who had a perfect 300 game to his credit.
Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law Victor and Suzy Winger of Houston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law Michele and Richard Pike and Marcia Parks and Jeff Boylan, all of Gardnerville; grandchildren Robert Pike, Richard Pike, Robert Lamar and Dever Lamar.
Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
